De Lima sinabing si Peña na ang acting mayor ng Makati

SINABI kahapon ni Justice Secretary Leila de Lima na wala nang legal na epekto ang ipinalabas na temporary restraining order (TRO) ng Court of Appeals (CA) kaugnay ng anim-na buwang pagkakasuspinde ni Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay.
Idinagdag ni de Lima na maaaring nang gampanan ni Makati Vice Mayor Romulo “Kid” Peña ang kanyang responsibilidad bilang acting mayor.
Ipinaliwanag ni e Lima na wala nang epekto ang TRO matapos namang manumpa si Peña bilang acting mayor.
Ayon pa kay de Lima, hindi naman isinama si Peña ni Binay sa kanyang petisyon.
“Basta sa amin klarado na moot and academic na ang TRO. Yung status quo na pine preserve or sought to be preserved by that TRO ay kung nakapanumpa na yung vice mayor. That is the status quo, that is the situation now,” ayon pa kay De Lima.
Nauna nang nagpalabas ang CA ng 60-araw na TRO laban sa pagkakasuspinde ni Binay.
“We are of the opinion that the temporary restraining order of the Court of Appeals is without legal force and effect because it is already moot and academic, the acts sought to be restrained having already been performed and accomplished,” ayon pa kay De Lima.de-lima-31
