Civilian volunteers aarmasan ng PNP?

YAN ang balak ng National Police para mapanatili ang katahimikan at kaayusan sa ilang kalunsuran at kanayunan.
Ayon kay Senior Supt. Agrimero Cruz, hepe ng Police Community Relations, ang aarmasan ay ang Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team, na karamihan ay nakatalaga sa kanayunan.
Sa konsepto ay maaaring walang pinag-iba ito sa dating Barrio Self-Defense Unit noong panahon ng martial law at binuo ni dating Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile.
Naging epektibo ang BSDU (na kinutya nang tawaging Balik Sa Dating Ugali), hanggang sa magkaroon ng alingasngas sa pondo at magamit ng ilang politiko.  Kung aarmasan ang BPAT, siyempre, kailangang sanayin sila sa pagdadala at pagpapaputok ng maiiksi at mahahabang armas, pati na ang tamang paghawak sa granada.
Kung palalakasin ang mga ito sa kalunsuran, ibig mo bang masalubong ang iyong barangay tanod na may bitbit na M16 assault rifle?
