SISIKAPING sundan ng Alaska Milk ang panalo kontra powerhouse San Miguel Beer sa pagtutunggali nila ng lightweight na Globalport sa PLDT Home Telpad PBA Governors’ Cup mamayang alas-5:45 ng hapon sa Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Cubao, Quezon City.

Sa ikalawang laro sa ganap na alas-8 ng gabi ay magkikita ang Rain or Shine at San Miguel Beer na hangad makabawi sa kabiguang natamo.

Ang Aces ay nakakuha ng 27 puntos sa import na si Henry Walker nang talunin nila ang Beermen, 94-87, noong Linggo. Sa kabilang dako, ang Batang Pier ay dinurog ng Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 89-71.

Si Walker ay nakakuha ng magandang suporta buhat sa mga frontliners na sina Joaquim Thoss, Calvin Abueva at Gabby Espinas na pawang nagtapos nang may double figures sa scoring.

“It’s nice to score in the 90s because last conference we were last in total points,” ani Alaska Milk coach Luigi Trillo. “We also have to continue playing good defense.’’

Si Walker ay makakatunggali ng nagbabalik na si Leroy Hickerson na naglalaro sa ikatlong koponan niya matapos maglaro sa Air21 at Barako Bull. Gumawa siya ng 30 puntos laban sa Gin Kings.

Nakapagbigay lang ng magandang laban ang Batang Pier kontra Gin Kings sa first half kung saan umabante ang Ginebra, 41-39. Pero naiwanan na sila sa second half.

Si Alex Cabagnot ang tanging local player na nagtapos na may double figures nang gumawa siya ng 21 puntos.
