PH host ng Asian men’s volley club championship

MAGKAKAROON ng pagkakataon ang mga mahihilig sa men’s volleyball na masilayan ang mga bigating club teams sa Asia sa pagtayo ng Pilipinas bilang punong-abala sa 2014 Asian Men’s Volleyball Club Championship sa Abril.

Pormal na inanunsyo ni Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) marketing at development committee chairman Ramon “Tats” Suzara ang hosting sa pulong pambalitaan na ginawa kahapon sa Aracama Restaurant sa The Fort, Global City, Taguig.

“The Philippines was awarded the Asian Men’s Volleyball Club Championship hosting because Vietnam backed out. The last time we hosted an Asian level men’s tournament was in 2009 and the hosting will help bring back men’s volleyball in the country,” wika ni Suzara.

Dumalo rin sa paglulunsad sina Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) chairman Philip Ella Juico at secretary-general Rustico Camangian habang si Gary Dujali, ang VP at head ng PLDT Home Broadband, ang kumatawan sa PLDT HOME Fibr na siyang magtataguyod sa kompetisyon.

Ang kompetisyon ay gagawin mula Abril 8 hanggang 16 sa The Arena sa San Juan City at nasa 14 hanggang 16 na koponan ang sasali sa pangunguna ng nagdedepensang kampeon na Iran bukod pa sa malakas na China, Korea at Kazakhstan.

Ang deadline para sa pagpapatala ng mga kalahok ay sa Enero 15 habang ang draw ay gaganapin sa Pebrero sa bansa.

Si Francis Vicente, na siyang coach ng PLDT myDSL na nagkampeon sa kauna-unahang men’s league sa Philippine Super Liga, ang siyang balak na paghawakin sa national team na palalakasin ng dalawang banyagang manlalaro.
