ISANG Mexican drug group ang nag-o-operate na sa loob ng bansa, ayon sa Philippine National Police, matapos madiskubre ang “shabu” storage facility sa Batangas.
“This is the first time, and we have confirmed the Mexicans [are] already here,” ayon kay Senior Superintendent Bartolome Tobias, PNP-Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force chief, na ang tinutukoy ay ang Sinaloa drug cartel.
Kinumpirma ng PNP ang pagpasok ng cartel ma-tapos masamsam ang 84 kilo ng shabu na nagkakahalaga ng P420 milyon, nang magsagawa ng raid ang mga awtoridad sa LPL Ranch sa barangay Inosluban sa Lipa City noong araw ng Pasko.
Bukod sa shabu, nakumpiska rin ang ilang baril, habang tatlo katao ang inaresto na nakilalang sina Gary Tan, Aragay Argenos and Rochelle Argenos.
Ayon sa napaunang ulat, sinasabi na pinamumunuan ni Tan ang isang malaking drug syndicate sa Metro Manila at mga kalapit probinsiya. Ayon pa sa ulat, kasama ni Tan sa trabaho ang isang Jorge Torres na isang Filipino-American.
“We are 7,000 islands [in the Philippines]. If you go down south you can freely go to Sabah. There are times when you don’t need to go through Immigration anymore . . . you just need to ride a boat . . .,” ayon kay PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima.
Anya pa, meron ding ulat silang nasagap na ilang container van ang naipuslit sa bansa na hindi dumaan sa pagsusuri.
Idinagdag pa ni Purisima na kasama ng Mexican group ang isang malaking Chinese drug syndicate sa operasyon.
Hindi rin anya magtatagal at hihiwalay ang grupo sa mga Intsik kapag nasanay na ang mga ito. “We can see they are just starting . . . we need to immediately act on this to stop them,” ayon pa kay Purisima.
