MAGKAKAROON ng long weekend sa Manila at Pasay dahil suspendido ang lahat ng klase, pati na rin ang tanggapan ng gobyerno pagdating ng Lunes at Martes, October 14 to 15.
Ayon sa inilabas na memorandum ng Malacañang, ito ay upang bigyang-daan ang opening ng Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR).
Ang nasabing kautusan mula sa Office of the President ay pinirmahan na ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
“In view of the numerous participants expected to travel to and within the Cities of Manila and Pasay on 14 and 15 October 2024 for the opening of APMCDRR in PICC, and to allow for the organized conduct of the APMCDRR, work in government offices and classes at all levels in the Cities of Manila and Pasay shall be suspended on 14 and 15 October 2024,” saad sa pahayag.

Pero paglilinaw sa memorandum, “Those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.”
Samantala, ang pagsususpinde ng trabaho para sa mga pribadong kumpanya at opisina ay nasa pagpapasya ng kani-kanilang respective heads.
Ang Pilipinas ang nakatakdang mag-host ng ika-10th session ng APMCDRR mula October 14 hanggang 18 na gaganapin sa Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) sa Maynila.
Ito ay in partnership kasama ang United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.
