Robin Padilla.
“Please be informed that we are not employees or part of the management of GMA Network or Sparkle Artist Management Agency which is/are the right person/persons to discuss on the policy of the television network and/or artist management agency in relation to complaints for abuse and harassment filed before them.
“Most importantly, we are currently respondents in the criminal case filed by Mr. Sandro Muhlach for alleged sexual harassment/sexual abuse.
“There are on-going investigations conducted on these cases already. In fact, we are directed to submit our corresponding counter-affidavits on these cases.
“At the onset, we deny all the accusations against us. We did not commit any sexual harassment or sexual abuse against Mr. Muhlach.
“Since he already filed a case against us, we opt to prove our innocence before this forum.
“We hope this Honorable Committee will respect our decision not to attend in this hearing, not only because we have nothing to contribute on the policies of tv networks and talent management agencies that will aid in legislation but also because as respondents in a criminal case any statements we made under oath may be used against us in the pending case which may be detrimental to our defense.
“This will thereby preempt the result of the criminal investigation being conducted on our cases.
“Moreover, we want to avoid the situation wherein we will be asked with questions during the hearing which will be tantamount to publicly subjecting us to cross examination on the facts of the case which only happens to an accused being tried in a criminal case in court when we are not even indicted for sexual harassment or sexual abuse before the proper prosecutor’s office.
“Both of us have been in the show business industry for more or less thirty (30) years, working with various male artists. Records can attest that our names have never been dragged to any scandal.
“No single complaint, criminal or otherwise, is ever filed against us. We were able to keep our reputation untainted until this issue came out.
“Thus, we resolved to keep ourselves away from the public and be the subject of humiliation and ridicule until the cases against us are finished. At any rate, we undertake to follow the criminal procedures on the cases filed against us.”
“I just read the letter coming from Mr. Richard Cruz and Mr. Jojo Nones and I believe that the letter, the statements stated here are unacceptable,” sabi ni Sen. Jinggoy.
“I just would like to give a piece of advice to these two gentlemen, alam niyo kapag inimbita kayo sa Senado huwag niyo i-preempt ‘yung aming mga tanong.
“I think this letter is totally unacceptable and I move that we subpoena them ad testificandum on the next hearing,” sabi ng aktor at politiko.
