“WE deserve divorce.”
‘Yan ang ibinanderang opinyon ng aktres na si Maxene Magalona sa kanyang recent Instagram post hinggil sa usaping diborsyo.
Magugunita noong May 22 nang pumasa sa ikatlo at huling pagdinig ng Kamara ang House Bill 9349 o ang Absolute Divorce Bill matapos bumoto ng “sang-ayon” ang 126 mambabatas, habang 109 ang “nag-hindi” at at 20 naman ang nag-abstain.
Pending naman sa ikalawang pagdinig ang Senate version ng Divorce bill.
Sa mahabang caption ni Maxene, iniugnay niya ang kanyang opinyon sa paglayo sa isang “toxic relationship.”

“Because it’s #MentalHealthAwareness month, I would like to share some of my thoughts on the importance of walking away from toxic relationships that are detrimental to our mental health,” sey niya.
Nabanggit din ng yoga instructor na ang pag-aasawa ay isang “risk” at hindi ginagarantiya ang isang pangmatagalan na relasyon.
“Almost everyone shows their best selves before marriage and after they get married, their true colors start to show. When we begin to see the cracks and issues that arise in the relationship, we exhaust all efforts to try to make it work for the sake of the marriage,” caption niya.
Pero nilinaw ni Maxene na dapat sineseryoso ang marriage bilang isa itong sakramento, lalo na sa mga Katoliko.
“This is true. Marriage IS supposed to be a sacred union between two people,” lahad niya.
Gayunpaman, may mga ikinakasal na kalauna’y nagiging “toxic” at “trauma” para sa mag-asawa.
Sambit ni Maxene, “I am writing this to show my support and empathy for all of the Filipinos who feel trapped in toxic marriages and can’t find a way out—especially the ones who are experiencing abuse on a daily basis.”
Bandang huli, nagpaabot ng suporta at empatiya ang aktres sa mga Pilipinong nakulong sa hindi masayang pagsasama.
“In my humble opinion, divorce helps protect the sanctity of marriage by allowing the toxic marriages to dissolve and keeping the sacred ones intact. I sincerely pray for peace and progress for the Philippines,” dagdag niya.
“We deserve divorce,” giit niya.
