Ice Seguerra at Dick Seguerra
HALOS 50 songs ang pinaghahandaan ni Ice Seguerra para sa kanyang 2-night “Videoke Hits” concert sa Music Museum.
In fairness, confident naman ang OPM icon na memorize niya ang mga naturang songs na kering-keri niyang kantahin kahit nakapikit.
Ang konsepto ng “Ice Seguerra: Videoke Hits” na gaganapin sa May 10 at May 11 sa Music Museum ay mula sa kanyang wifey na si Liza Diño.

Ayon kay Ice, pa-tribute rin niya ang kanyang videoke concert sa kanyang namayapang amang si
Decoroso “Dick” Seguerra. Namana raw niya rito ang kanyang pagiging singer at pagkaadik sa videoke.
“Ang Daddy ko, hindi talaga siya mabisyong tao. Pero ‘yan ang kaniyang chillax time.
“Pupunta ‘yan sa malapit na videokehan sa amin dati sa may Cubao, du’n siya, mag-videoke siya, buong gabi na siya du’n. Tapos wala, kakanta lang siya nang kakanta,” pahayag ni Ice.
Natatandaan pa ba niya kung kailan siya unang pumasok sa isang videokehan?
“My gosh! Bata pa, I mean, nu’ng una pa lang nauso yan. And I remember in college at UST, every time there’s a vacant period, nagbi-videoke kami, yung iba nagbi-billiards kami videoke.”
Pero ang tatay daw talaga niya ang original Videoke King sa pamilya, “He sang until the very end of his life.
“Pag pupunta yan ng video bar, dala niya sa wallet niya yung mga number ng mga kakantahin niya,” kuwento pa ni Ice.

Patuloy pa niya, “Multiplex pa, di ba karaoke pa noon? Bibili ka ng cassettes. That was my first memory of my dad singing at home. He loved to sing! ‘Portrait of My Love,’ ‘Misty,’ ‘Moon River’, mga ganu’n kinakanta niya.”
Sa tanong kung ano ang magiging kakaiba sa “Videoke Hits” sa mga past concerts niya? “How we’re gonna do it is we’re intentional to really have the fans on board from the very beginning.
“Di lang sya yung I’ll be performing in front of the audience but it’s like, from conceptualization to execution the audience is very much mind. Simula pa lang, even the choosing of the lineup. They have a hand in it. Tapos in the performance also, they’ll be part of it,” sagot ng singer-songwriter.
“Honestly, it’s really the first time Im doing something like this kasi nga sanay ako na when I’m on stage, I really have my own world and It’s me letting the audience into my world.
“So now it’s really different in the sense that, although there’ll be songs na ganon parin, marami sa mga kanta na I would really want to share it with the people at the aquariumna tipong I will be the one going out of my way to have them with me,” sey pa ni Ice.
Dagdag pa niyang chika about his concert, “There will definitely be jammers. And the jammers, we ll , let’s just say I will share the stage with singers who actually sang somof the songs in the lineup.
“Excited din ako coz I will be sharing the stage with some of the audience members, makakasama ko sila onstage. I honestly don’t know what’s gonna happen, but I’m excited dun sa not knowing what’s gonna happen,” sabi pa ni Ice.
