“GRABE! Ang galing-galing niya!” ang nagkakaisang papuri kay Royce Cabrera ng kanyang co-stars sa Kapuso afternoon series na “Makiling.”
Umani ng magaganda at positibong review mula sa mga manonood at mga kasamahan niyang veteran stars ang naging performance ni Royce sa mga nakaraang episode ng “Makiling”.
Mula nang magsimula ang serye sa pagbubukas ng 2024 mula sa GMA Public Affairs, hindi na ito nawala sa mga top programs ng Kapuso Network.

Pak na pak sa mga viewers ang aktingan ng lead stars na sina Elle Villanueva at Derrick Monasterio pati na ng iba pang members ng cast.
Pero nitong mga nagdaang episodes, ang umaani ng papuri ay ang Sparkle artist na si Royce Cabrera, na patuloy na nagmamarka bilang si Ren, na isa sa mga nagpapahirap sa karakter ni Elle.
Sa nakaraang episode, ni-reveal na ang kanyang deep, dark secret kaya tinalikuran na siya ng kanyang pamilya at mga kaibigan. At dito nga ipinakita ni Royce ang kanyang versatility as an actor.
Papuri ng premyadong aktor na si Mon Confiado (gumaganap na Franco Terra sa Makiling) kay Royce, “Yung scene namin na nagmamakaawa si Ren (Royce) was a total twist of his character.
“Grabe yung ibinigay niyang transformation, from his tough character (bilang isa sa mga Crazy 5) to a weak one begging for our mercy.

“And during that begging scene, hindi bumibitaw si Royce sa emotions niya kahit madaming shots and angles ang aming director. Grabe yung discipline ni Royce as an actor. Ang galing niya!” dugtong ni Mon.
Ayon naman sa isa pa nilang co-star na si Andrea del Rosario, “Napakahusay niya. Carried away kami sa kanyang performance.
“Naawa talaga ko sa kanya which I was not supposed to feel that way as Natalie but he was so good, of course internally, naramdaman ko yung kaniyang desperation,” sey pa ng aktres.
Komento ni Ian de Leon, “Yung eksana natin na bugbugan, medyo mahirap ‘yun but we pulled it off. Dahil sa utmost talent mo, sa pinakita mong galing, pinakita mong 100 percent na dedication doon sa work mo.”
“Hands down ako sa ’yo dahil pinakita mo lahat ng makakaya mo. And most importantly your unique style of craft. You showed your signature talent,” aniya pa.
Inilarawan pa ng anak ng Superstar na si Nora Aunor si Royce bilang “down to earth actor”, “Ang galing, eh! Kasi you wouldn’t expect someone with this caliber doing their craft, doing an acting career na ganoon na yung level ng expertise. Mukhang veteran na rin, eh.”
Sa tanong naman kay Royce kung paano niya naitawid nang bonggang-bongga ang kanyang emotionally-charged scenes, “Ni-relax ko ang body and mind ko.
“Nag-water ako ng marami para nasa condition ang sarili ko once na ginawa na namin yung scene. Nagpasalamat din siya sa guidance ng kanilang direktor na si Conrado Peru, “Inalam ko ang objective ng character ko for that scene.
“Nagtanong ako kina Direk kung anong intensity ng emotion ang gusto nila mangyari and then from there inaral ko siya nang buo before mag take para maging malinaw sa audience yung gustong iparamdam ni Ren for that scene.
“Every role naman na ginagawa ko ay challenging for me kasi iba’t ibang objectives ang meron bawat character.
“Etong si Ren, ang naging challenge sa akin ay kung paano ko kailangan i-maintain ‘yung pain and sadness niya kasi halos lahat ng tao na nakapalagid sa kanya ay iniwan na siya.
“At ang bigat nu’n for me para dalhin buong week so kailangan ko mag relax at bantayan din ang emotion ko bilang Royce para hindi madala masyado sa emotion ni Ren,” pagbabahagi pa ni Royce.
Kasama rin sa “Makiling” sina Kristoffer Martin, Myrtle Sarrosa, Teejay Marquez, at Claire Castro.
