Ilan lamang sa nagbigay-pugay ay sina Maine Mendoza at Kylie Verzosa na inalala ang pagiging mabuting kaibigan sa kanila ng namayapang doktora.

Noong Huwebes, March 21, nang sumakabilang-buhay si Dr. Gia dahil sa pulmonary embolism at heart failure.
Ang sad news ay unang inanunsyo ng Asociación de Alumnas de Poveda (AAP), ang alumnae association ng eskwelahan, at ito ay kinumpirma ng kanyang mister na si Dr. Rogin Sison.
“Wife, mother, daughter, sister, hermana and friend,” caption sa Facebook account ng AAP.
Lahad pa, “Doctor, podcaster, host. A mental health warrior, cancer survivor and celebrity all the days of her life. Her light continues on in all whose lives she touched.”
“surrounded by her family and loved ones. Please join us in prayer for the eternal repose of our dear Hermana Gia’s soul,” dagdag pa sa post.
Sikat si Dr. Gia bilang host ng “G Talks, “ ang podcast series ng CNN Philippines na nagbibigay ng advice pagdating sa relasyon, karera, pagsubok sa buhay at marami pang iba.
Maliban diyan, isa rin siyang inspirasyon sa maraming tao bilang isang breast cancer warrior.
Pinangunahan pa nga niya ang pagbuo ng non-profit organization na ang tawag ay “Livestrong Foundation” na nagbibigay-suporta sa mga taong may cancer.
