This refers to your e-mail endorsing the request of Ms. Ma. Magdalena M. Banta, of the City Assessor’s Office, City Government of Davao (LGU), requesting the GSIS to update her record in view of her future retirement from government service.
We are pleased to inform you that after Manager Bai Cerynea B. Aquino of the GSIS Davao Branch Office and her staff had met with Ms. Banta, she agreed to submit to their Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), Davao LGU, a copy of her appointment as temporary welfare aide at the Department of Social Welfare and Development from 1975 to 1981.
As soon as the appointment documents are received, the HRMO shall include her six-year service in her consolidated service record, along with her five-year contractual service in Davao LGU from 1996 to 2001.
Davao LGU’s agency authorized officer shall, in turn, submit to the GSIS her consolidated service record to serve as our basis in updating her GSIS record.
We would like to inform you further, as we have also advised Ms. Banta, that per GSIS’s policy, the appointment documents that she will submit may enable us to determine her total length of service and her eligibility for pension benefit, but those temporary or contractual services will not be included in computing her retirement benefit, as there is no employee-employer relationship in such employment arrangements.
