“Ang daming mas maganda, ang daming matatangkad, ang daming malaking boobs, and during my time puro totoo yun, hindi ba? Pero at the end of the day, it’s really suwertihan.
“I mean, you can move mountains, declare this, declare that. Pero at the end of the day, it’s destiny,” paliwanag ni Gloria.

Inihalintulad pa niya ito sa pagtaya sa lotto, “You and I, and everyone, if we bought a ticket to the lotto, we have a good chance of winning one in 10 million, one in two million, and since she was in that contest, she had a good chance of winning.”
Patuloy pa niya, “Pero tayong mga Pilipino, nasanay tayo na laging panalo na all of a sudden we all feel na, ‘Naku, dinaya,’ ‘Lutong Macao,’ and stuff like that.”
Natanong din siya ng press tungkol sa pagkatalo ni Michelle Dee sa katatapos lang na Miss Universe 2023, “There are too many questions about it, ‘kung dinaya,’ pero parang sanay na ako, e.
“This is almost how many years? 40 years na yata yung… ‘nadaya,’ ‘inisahan,’ ‘dapat ganito yung kasali, hindi kasali,’ parang okay…at the end, everybody really deserves to win. Sa totoo, you’re not going to be there if you don’t deserve to win,” sabi pa ni Gloria.
Pag-alala niya noon sa pagkapanalo ni Melanie, “There was so many ‘cannot’ kasi hindi marunong mag-English, ‘cannot’ kasi ganito, ganyan. I pushed for her talaga.
“She’s beautiful. This is not an IQ contest. This is not a contest for who’s the smartest or the best in English,” ani Gloria na ang tinutukoy ay ang pang-ookray sa pagsasalita ng English is nanay ni Michelle.
“Sa akin, in fact, all this time, sabi ko dapat all our Filipino contestants should speak in their language, whatever they feel like para they have time to think, di ba?
“Ang daming interpreter diyan. I said, you know if you’re an Ilocana and that’s your first language, speak in Ilocano, hindi ba?” dugtong ng aktres.
Tungkol naman kay Michelle, “She was very confident, she had a beautiful gown. Nainggit nga ako, ‘Susuot ko nga yan.’ I like the black gown, I like the one yung parang tattooed.
“And she had good answers and stuff. Pero iba naman ang type ng judges for this year,” sey pa niya.
Pagkukumpara naman niya sa mag-inang Melanie at Michelle, “On a scale of 1-10 si Melanie, who was Miss International, na doon ako nag-judge, talagang gusto ko si Melanie noon. She was a 10.
“And of course, her daughter, I supported her too. She has everything like Melanie, height, grace, everything. But compared to Melanie, she was an 8,” sabi pa ni Gloria Diaz.
