Robi Domingo
KAHIT ilang taon nang nagho-host sa mga programa ng ABS-CBN, inamin ni Robi Domingo na inaatake pa rin siya ng stage fright kapag pumapagitna na sa stage.
Ayon sa binata, palagi pa rin siyang ninenerbiyos at kinakabahan sa tuwing meron siyang hosting gig. Yan ang inamin niya nang matanong kung may nerbiyos at pressure pa ba siyang nararamdaman kapag nagho-host.
“Always. Dont’t get me wrong, every time I go on a stage or platform kinakabahan ako and there are moments too na hindi ko kinakaya or baka mamaya napangunahan ako ng kaba.
“But I also look up to my fellow hosts na nakakasama because they bring in a different kind of flavor and I learned from them. That’s why I love doing my job because I learn so much and I hear lots of stories,” pahayag ni Robi matapos pumirma ng bagong kontrata sa ABS-CBN.
Nagkuwento rin siya tungkol sa hindi malilimutang karanasan bilang host, “There were two major ones. There was a time in 2014, I remember the date kasi it was the first season of The The Voice of the Philippines.
“It was the semi-finals and Ms. Toni Gonzaga had a prior commitment so sabi sa amin ng production biglaan na, ‘We’re not going to get another host. Ang mangyayari, you and Alex (Gonzaga) will level up. Kayo ang magiging main host.’
“First time I heard my name when Peter Musngi, the Golden Voice of ABS-CBN said my name in Resorts World Manila said, ‘Mga kapamilya, please welcome your hosts Alex Gonzaga and Robi Domingo.’

“During that moment, ang sarap ng music, akyat kami ng stage and kita namin a sea of different colors, ingay ng Resorts World. Sabi ko kay Alex, “Alex, eto na ‘to. Main host na tayo. Ito na yung level up bro natin!’” pagbabalik-tanaw ni Robi.
“I saw Direk Lauren proud na proud. My first words were, ‘Magandang Kapamilya!’ and then Alex was like, ‘Pards, nakalimutan mo yung ‘gabi’!’ I was like, ‘Magandang kapamilya gabi!’
“So wala, that was my major boo-boo. After that, sabi ko ‘Hindi pa natin time, backstage muna tayo. Wala, balik na tayo!” natatawang chika pa ng Kapamilya host.
Ang ikalawa raw ay nang mag-host siya ng Miss Earth Philippines pageant, “We rehearsed it pero biglang nagbago yung prompter. Iniba yung sequence. So what happened was I was with a female host.
“I forgot her name sorry. And then sinabi ko du’n yung ‘Pelase welcome our board of judges. We got an actor, a pillar of Philippine showbiz. Please welcome Mr. Crisostopher De Leon!’
“And the look of sir Christopher was like ‘Oh my God, ‘yung parang gusto ko na magpalamon sa lupa nu’ng na-realize ko ‘yun. Wala na, wala na akong babalikang trabaho after nu’n. Ha-hahahaha!
“So ‘yun ‘yung mga moments na, ‘Ano bang nangyari?’ Pero salamat at nangyari,” pag-alala pa ni Robi.
Robi Domingo ibinuking ang tatay: ‘Ayaw niya palang pumasok sa PBB house para samahan ako, kasi…’
Robi Domingo nai-imagine na ang sarili na meron nang pamilya after 5 years
