UMANI ng batikos mula sa madlang pipol ang bagong tourism promotion video na inilabas ng Department of Tourism (DOT).
Ito ay matapos mapansin na ang video clips na ginamit ay mula sa mga stock footage mula Thailand, Indonesia at United Arab Emirates na makukuha sa rapid video creation platform na “Storyblocks.”
Dahil sa nangyari, naglabas ng opisyal na pahayag ang ad agency na gumawa ng nasabing video, ang DDB Philippines, upang humingi ng tawad sa DOT at sa sambayanang Pilipino.
“DDB Philippines profusely apologizes to Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, the DOT, and the Filipino People for the apparent use of non-original or stock footage in the audio-visual presentation shown in the launch event of the Love The Philippines campaign,” saad ng ahensya.
Patuloy pa, “As DOT’s agency on record for the launch of this campaign, we take full responsibility over this matter.”
“The AVP in question, uploaded by the agency on social media, was intended to be a mood video to excite internal stakeholders about the campaign,” dagdag pa.
Nilinaw rin ng DDB Philippines na ang na-produce na video ay sarili nitong gastos at walang pampublikong pondo ang inilabas.
Lahad ng ahensya, “The video was produced at its own expense, and no public funds were released or would be released, to fund the video.”

Mababasa rin na tila nagsisi ang ahensya sa nangyari at inako ang kanilang mga pagkakamali.
“[T]he use of foreign stock footage was an unfortunate oversight on our agency’s part. Proper screening and approval processes should have been strictly followed. The use of foreign stock footage in a campaign promoting the Philippines is highly inappropriate and contradictory to the DOT’s objectives,” sey ng DDB.
Ani pa nila, “This is an isolated incident, and the AVP has already been taken down as of this time. The succeeding ad materials have yet to be produced for this campaign.”
Ibinunyag din ng ad agency na sila ay kasalukuyang nakikipag-ugnayan sa isinasagawang imbestigasyon ng DOT.
“We sincerely hope this will not diminish the genuine love and appreciation the stakeholders and the public have been showing for the Love The Philippines campaign,” sambit pa.
Nauna nang sinabi ng Tourism Department na ilang beses nang kinumpirma ng DDB ang originality at ownership ng mga materyal na ginamit sa bagong campaign video.
Ayon pa sa DOT, hindi sila magdadalawang-isip panagutan at gawin ang kinakailangang aksyon upang maprotektahan ang ating bansa.
“It will not hesitate to exact accountability and take the necessary action to protect the interest of the country even as it continues to exhaust all efforts to develop and promote the Philippine tourism industry,” lahad ng DOT sa isang pahayag.
