Halos iuwi ng pelikulang “About Us But Not About Us ” ang lahat ng awards matapos itong nakakuha ng 10 (out of 16).
Nakaapat namang awards ang pelikulang “Here Comes the Groom” na Quantum Films din ang producer with Brightlight Productions and Cineko Productions.
Joji, “Emmanuel Dela Cruz, May I know if this is your way of questioning the credibility of the esteemed members of the jury of the First Summer MMFF Dolly de Leon, Joey Javier Reyes, Toff de Venecia, Mario Escobar Bautista, Rolando Tolentino, Che-Che Ona, Tim Orbos, Honorable Arenas, Honorable Lim and Victor Neri?
“Are you saying that the winners did not deserve to win??? Or is it simply because, you have a beef with me?
“Why fault someone who risks hard earned money to produce films not knowing if the money will ever come back?
“Why not use your energy and talent to write and direct films instead?
“Jun Robles Lana, Perci Intalan and Christopher Martinez and the rest of the winners do not deserve to be dragged into this. They are decent people who deserve every accolade they have earned now and over the years!
“The Philippine film industry needs saving right now! And what have you done to help?” ang kabuuang mensahe ni Atty. Joji.
Sabi ni Gina Marissa Tagasa sa kanyang FB account, “The world loves winner! Congratulations to all the deserving best of the best. Let’s continue to support the Summer Metromanila Filmfestival 2023 by watching these films (winner or not, winner’s pa rin naman lahat).
Sumagot ang isa sa miyembro ng jury na si Direk Jose Javier Reyes, “As part of the jury…and after six hours of deliberation, it is not about who produced what…but which of the works is the best among the best.”
A festival that was meant to re-unify and re-ignite…Hopefully just did that.
“And not just created a new divisiveness amongst industry players and stakeholders.
“Hoping for the best. And for the better MMFF like the 2016 one. And hopefully we’ve all learned painfully from that.”
Isa na riyan ang writer na si Noreen Capili, “Wala pa akong nabasa o narinig na bad reviews sa Here Comes the Groom at About Us But Not About Us. Pati ‘yung Love You, puro praises nababasa ko. Deserving ang lahat ng winners. Congratulations, Attorney!”
All winners are deserving and walang nakakalungkot do’n, period.”
Candy Cortez, “Buti nga at may nagpo-produce pa! Happy lang tayo. Grabe na ang dinulot ng pandemic! Maging positive naman sana.”
Mula sa manunulat ng libro at movie reviewer na si Pablo Tariman, “I fully agree with jury’s choices 200 per cent! No ifs and buts about that. Been reviewing festival entries since 1979.
Sabi naman ng spokeperson ng Metro Manila Film Festival na si Noel Ferrer, “We will continue to support and help each other and our industry. THANK YOU Atty. Joji Alonso!”
May netizen na nagsabing, “I don’t think he is in the position to question the credibility of the jurors.
