Aniya sa simulang bahagi ng kanyang kuwento, “Backstory: I was panicking and having major doubts with this one because of my current vocal condition – still recovering from laryngitis and my voice is still hoarsed for 2 weeks now.

“After taking some meds, doing steam, nebu, vocal rest when i can, I just surrendered eveything to God. Bigyan niya ako ng malinis na boses. And by His grace, i was able to finish the song,  without signs of hoarseness or major cracks,” lahad ni Jona.

Kasunod nito, sinabi nga niyang ramdam na ramdam niya nu’ng mga oras na yun ang presence ni Lord, “I really felt His divine intervention in this performance kasi kung ako lang talaga, I know my body and my capacity esp when im sick, hindi ko talaga kakayanin to.

“Makakakanta maybe but very very far from this… I actually wanted to back out, or ask to change my song, or change key kung di talaga pwede magback out, pero ayaw na ni tito Homer i-change ang key.

“Mahirap na raw dahil last minute na at maapektuhan ang before and after the song-  ipagpepray na lang daw niya ako.. Thank you tito Homer,” aniya pa.

Sabi pa ng biriterang singer, “Major takeaway and reminder for me: Don’t underestimate the power of prayer and surrender…. and also to seriously take care of your instrument — your voice.

“So grateful to God for the covering, and the people around me for the love, support and encouragement – my mommager Arlene T. Meyer  and ASAP fam, and to everyone of you for the kind words, maraming salamat.. All glory to God!!” ang kabuuang pahayag ni Jona.

“Yesterday I visited my long-time ENT Doctor Doc Enrico Donato (who’s a very kind doctor, chill, astig and of course good looking!!) to check my vocal cords as I’m still hoarse since March 19.

“He prescribed meds for these 3 major culprits – swollen cords, acid reflux, and unwanted thick mucus and he advised me to have a vocal rest for a week, and to get rid of food and drinks that trigger acid reflux, including my kryptonites – chocolatesss and coffee,” ang pahayag pa ng singer.
