NAKUHA ni Anna Sueangam-ian, representative ng Thailand para sa 71st Miss Universe ang puso ng pageant fans matapos niyang ibahagi ang istorya sa likod ng kanyang gown.
Sa Instagram ay ibinandera ng dalaga ang kanyang gown na gawa mula sa pinagdugtong-dugtong na used aluminum pull tabs of drink cans at Swarovski crystals.
Lahad ni Miss Thailand, “This gown was inspired by the familiar surroundings of my childhood. Growing up with garbage collector parents, my life as a child was among piles of garbage and recyclables.
“This unique gown was purposefully tailored-made with discarded and recycled materials, namely the ‘Can Tab’ to present to the UNIVERSE that what’s considered worthless by many actually possesses its own value and beauty.”
Nagpasalamat rin si Miss Thailand sa lahat ng mga taong naka-appreciate sa kanyang gown maging sa kwentong hatid nito.
Sey pa niya, “Thank you all for seeing it, hearing it, and hopefully being that message of self-worth.”
Ibinahagi rin ng TPN Global Co. Ltd., ang organisasyon sa likod ng Miss Universe Thailand (MUT), ang evening gown ni Anna sa official Instagram pageant page.
“Persistence, tenaciousness and optimism within her have led her to a great success in life. It is the result of being brought up by a father who is a garbage collector, street-sweeper mother, and a virtuous nun who was Anna’s great-grandmother. Although she was called by some as ‘The garbage beauty queen,’ that never stops her from shining bright as a precious gem,” paglalarawan ng organisasyon ng Miss Universe Thailand kay Anna.
Kaliwa’t kanan naman ang naging papuri kay Anna mula sa mga netizens.
“We love a conceptualized Queen! Let’s go to Thailand,” saad ng isa.
