K-Pop boy band Omega X dinemanda ang dating CEO dahil sa karahasan, sexual abuse

ISINAPUBLIKO ng South Korean boy band na Omega X ang kanilang pagdedemanda sa dating CEO ng talent agency na Spire Entertainment.
Ang balita ay kasabay ng anunsyo ng banda tungkol sa “termination” ng kanilang contract sa nabanggit na talent agency.
Ipinaliwanag nila na isang taon nilang tiniis ang inilalarawan nilang “nightmare” sa kanilang buhay.
Pagbubunyag ng Omega X, nakaranas sila ng iba’t-ibang klase ng pang-aabuso na parehong nakaapekto sa kanila verbally at physically.
Paliwanag pa ng isang miyembro ng banda, sinikreto nila ang mga nangyayari dahil sa takot na mawalan sila ng tsansa sa music industry.
“The only reason why we had put up (with the alleged violence) is because of the fear that we would lose our last chance. It was a second chance for all of us, and we didn’t want to waste our time. We also believed we had to endure for our fans,” sey ng isang band member.
Patuloy pa niya, “But it has come to a stage where we cannot tolerate it, and we’re taking the courage for everyone who is also suffering from unfair treatment and for everyone who is striving for their dreams.”
Noong Oktubre lang nang unang umugong ang bali-balita tungkol sa isyu ng pang-aabuso habang inilulunsad ng grupo ang kanilang U.S. concert tour.
Ayon pa sa grupo, Nobyembre ng nakaraang taon nang mag-umpisa silang abusuhin ng dating CEO na si Kang.
Kwento nila, “She not only forced us to drink after our practices, but she made sexually harassing comments and touched our thighs and faces, persistently abusing us sexually.
“Even when such meetings were over, she would continuously call and text us and verbally assault us.”
Dagdag pa nila, “We had no choice but to stay with her and do as she wished. She’d also tell us there will be no next album if we reject drinking.”
Patuloy nilang kwento sa media, “It wasn’t just harassment, but she would touch the thigh and stick her face so close to the member’s that he could feel her breath.
“This is a case of abuse of power, and if the victims had been female, (the assaulter) would have been heavily punished.”
Ang Omega X ay may 11 na miyembro at sila’y sina Jaehan, Hwichan, Sebin, Hangyeom, Taedong, Xen, Jehyun, Kevin, Jung-hoon, Hyuk at Yechan.
