GAGAMITIN ang mga security guards na nagbabantay sa mga pribadong establisimento kontra krimen.
Sa pulong na isinagawa sa Manila Police District headquarters, lumagda sa kasunduan sina MPD director Chief Supt. Rodolfo Magtibay at Ramon Bernardo, presidente ng Philippine Association of Detective and Protective Agency Operators, na nagtatalaga sa mga security guards bilang “information gatherers” at “crime fighters.”
May 10,000 security guards ang unang isasabak.
Ang pulong ay dinaluhan ng 70 kinatawan ng iba’t ibang security agencies na nakatalaga sa Maynila.
Naniniwala si Magtibay na malaking tulong ang mga security guards sa “information gathering” dahil kung saan-saan sila nakikita at 24 oras silang nagbabantay sa kanilang mga puwesto.
“We realized the big help of the security guards not only to the business establishments they are assigned to but also to the city itself,” ani Magtibay.
Tiniyak ni Magtibay sa mga opisyal ng security agencies na agad na reresponde ang MPD sa kanilang tawag.
Pero, pinaalalahanan ng Philippine National Police Security Agencies and Guards Supervision Division (PNP-SAGSD) ang mga guwardiya na kailangan hawak nila ang papeles ng baril kung magagamit nila ang armas.
