Sprint Queen Lydia de Vega nasa kritikal na kondisyon dahil sa Stage 4 breast cancer; pamilya nanawagan ng tulong, dasal

NASA “very critical condition” ngayon ang tinaguriang Asia’s Fastest Woman” na si Lydia de Vega dahil sa Stage 4 breast cancer.

Kinumpirma ito ng anak ni Lydia na si Stephanie Mercado-de Koenigswarter sa pamamagitan ng kanyang Instagram account.

Mas lumala pa raw ang kondisyon ng isa sa greatest athletes in Philippine history dahil sa mga nararanasan nitong kumplikasyon dulot ng breast cancer.

“She was diagnosed with this in 2018, and has been silently fighting the disease for the past four years,” simulang pagbabahagi ni Stephanie na naglaro noon sa collegiate volleyball para sa De La Salle University at club volleyball para Petro Gazz.

“As the disease is progressing, her condition is quickly worsening despite undergoing many procedures including brain surgery,” dagdag pang mensahe ng anak ni Stephanie.

Kasunod nito, nanawagan ng tulong pinansyal at humiling ng dasal ang pamilya ng dating atleta sa publiko.

“I am requesting everyone to please pray for her in this desperate time of need.

“If anyone would like to assist financially to cover her medical expenses, any donation would be deeply and whole-heartedly appreciated. maraming salamat po!” mensahe pa ng anak ni Lydia.

Samantala, sa naganap na courtesy call sa Malacañang noong nagdaang linggo, sinabi ni Philippine Sports Commission officer-in-charge Guillermo Iroy na inatasan siya ni President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. na tulungan ang sprint champion.

“The President instructed me during the courtesy call when I briefed him to extend necessary assistance to Lydia,” ani Iroy sa isang panayam.

Siyam na gintong medalya ang napanalunan ni Lydia de Vega sa Southeast Asian Games at dalawa pang gold sa Asian Games.

Huli siyang napanood ng sambayanang Filipino sa opening ceremony ng 2019 Southeast Asian Games na ginanap dito sa Pilipinas.
