Matapos dedmahin, Palasyo tuliro kay Misuari

Arlyn Dela Cruz - September 12, 2013 - 03:00 AM

IT was a security crisis just waiting to unfold. All the signs leading to Monday’s bloody encounter between combined government forces and armed members of theMoro National Liberation Front (MNLF) were visible, expressed, articulated, overtly I must stress.

MNLF’s Nur Misuari did declare his intention and that of the MNLF in declaring independence of Mindanao, at least the Southern part of Mindanao.

What happened then?

Nobody paid attention.

That was the quick and almost generic response. A response which was not based on an intelligence information from the ground.

Eto ang sabi ni Misuari: “As commander in chief of the Bangsamoro Forces, I hereby order all avaible persons to surround and secure all the military, police and all other installations, airports, seaports and other vital government and private institution under the Philippine Colonial Government to prevent them from making any mischief on our land. All installations under the control of the PhIlippine Colonial Government , I said, whether civilian or uniform are required to cooperate in a peaceful manner.

Every single installation already surrounded by our forces shall remain under such position indefinitely until orders are given to lift their siege or they are compelled to cooperate unconditionally.”

On air we interviewed Atty.

On air he insisted that only the mobilization or the reactivation of the Ceasefire Committee headed by Indonesia can help pacify the escalating tension in Zamboanga City.

Off the air, I called him and he said, Misuari said, he will insist on the intervention of no less than the United Nations.

There will never be a union of the two agreements, the signed agreement and the still pending.
