Cassy Legaspi

They’re the biggest motivation. I’m doing this for them. Kasi I want to make them proud na, I want to, I guess, finish their dreams kasi my parents didn’t get to graduate in college.

“So sabi ko, ‘Sige, ako na lang gagawa nun for you guys.’ So ayun po,” aniya.

“That was part of the agreement before we sign with Artist Center na, ‘Okay, gusto niyo maging artists? Okay, puwede, but don’t let go of your education.’

I have nothing to lose. So we agreed to it right away,” pahayag ng aktres.

“Nu’ng nasa lock-in ako, I was thinking kasi if I should take time off school pero na-realize ko, ‘Hindi, kaya ko iyan, kaya ko iyan!’

“Well, at least, kinaya ko naman. So during lock in, I was also doing school work. So during breaks, I would write yung mga papers ko, nagte-test ako,” aniya pa.

“There was this time na si Clarence, yung brother ko sa First Yaya, he had to film me for my finals project na naka-get-up ako ni Nina Acosta (role niya sa First Yaya).

If you really want to do something, you will do anything to get it,” chika pa ng proud working student sa nakaraang virtual mediacon para sa bago niyang endorsement.

Well alam ko naman na it will all be worth it in the end especially juggling work and school.

“Not everyone can say, I guess, that they do that. More of, like, I know that this will be a good achievement in the end.”

“When I first entered college, parang hindi pa po ako full-blown artista or something. So okay, easy-easy pa rin siya. And then, eventually, I think what made it hard was the pandemic. I’m sure it was hard for all of us adjusting to online.”

Payo pa niya sa mga kapwa working students, huwag susuko sa laban at matuto ring magpahinga at mag-recharge, “Yung dance lessons ko was after First Yaya. So I just make sure to schedule it properly, especially with yung mga singing lessons ko.

“But I always make sure na I’m not too tired kasi healthy should be the number one priority. Siyempre, in this pandemic, naku we can’t lower our immune system.

“So ayun po, I just make sure to rest all the time, kung may time. I guess, this is super cliche but learn to rest kasi it’s really tiring to work and at the same time go to school.

“Especially, those students who provide for their families. Naku, super saludo ako sa inyo lahat, my gosh.

“But always make sure to rest and learn to recharge para you won’t really dread working and going to school. Deserve niyo iyan, guys, promise!” mensahe pa ni Cassy.
