Train speed ng MRT-3, itinaas na sa 50kph

Naging matagumpay ang pagtataas ng operating speed sa mga tren ng Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3).

Simula Lunes, November 2, nasa 50 kilometers per hour (kph) na ang bilis ng takbo ng mga tren.

Ibig-sabihin, mas maikli na ang oras ng paghihintay ng mga pasahero sa mga tren na nasa apat hanggang limang minuto na lamang.

Dahil din dito, mapapabilis din ang biyahe mula North Avenue station hanggang Taft Avenue station at magiging 1 oras at limang minuto na lang ang travel time.

Ang pagpapabuti ng train speed ay resulta ng installation ng bagong long-welded rails (LWRs) sa lahat ng MRT-3 stations.

Bahagi ito ng part massive rehabilitation program ng MRT-3 katuwang ang Sumitomo-Mitsubishi Heavy Industries mula Japan.

“With the increased operating speed, MRT-3 passengers can now expect faster travel time, shorter waiting time for train arrivals, and better and comfortable riding experience,” pahayag ni MRT-3 Director for Operations Michael Capati.

Target ng pamunuan ng MRT-3 na maitaas pa sa 60 kph ang takbo ng mga tren sa Disyembre.Huling nakapagpatakbo ng mga tren ng MRT-3 sa bilis na 50 kph noong September 2014.
