BTS kauna-unang South Korean artist na nag-No. 1 sa Billboard Hot 100

BTS ang kauna-unang South Korean artist na ang awit ay pumaimbulog sa number 1 sa main singles chart ng Billboard US noong Lunes.

BTS achieves its first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, as ‘Dynamite’ debuts at the summit,” ayon sa ulat ng Billboard noong Lunes, isang araw bago muling maglabas ito ng panibagong chart.

Nanguna ang BTS sa  main album chart, ang Billboard 200, apat na beses na mula pa Mayo 2018, dahil sa kanilang kantang  “Love Yourself: Tear”, “Love Yourself: Answer”, “Map of the Soul: Persona” at “Map of the Soul: 7.”

Umabot sa 265,000 ang naibentang downloads “Dynamite”, maituturing na may pinakamalaking benta sa digital sa loob ng isang linggo magmula pa noong Setyember 16, 2017, nang i-release ni  Taylor Swift ang kantang “Look What You Made Me Do” na umabot sa 353,000 downloads, ayon sa ulat ng Billboard.

Si PSY naman ang dating  highest-charting South Korean artist na napabilang sa  Hot 100 sa kanyang 2012 viral hit na “Gangnam Style,” na umabot pa sa  No. 2 spot.

Samantala, ang na-iisang Asian na napabilang sa Billboard Hot 100 ay ang Japanese singer na si Kyu Sakamoto sa kanyang kantang “Sukiyaki” na ni-release noong 1963.

Ang panibagong karangalang ito ay nakamit ng BTS matapos makasungkit noong Linggo ng apat na awards sa MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) — Best Pop, Best Group, Best Choreography and Best K-pop — para sa kanilang kantang “ON.”
