MAY planong tumakbo sa pagkapangulo si Senator Manny Pacquiao, ayon sa dati niyang promoter na si Bob Arum.
Sa report ng The Sun, sinabi ni Arum kay WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman, na sinabi ni Pacquiao sa kaniya sa isang Zoom call na nais niyang pumunta si Arum sa Pilipinas para sa kaniyang inauguration sakaling manalo itong presidente sa 2022 elections.
“I did a Zoom telephone call with him, ‘Bob, I’m gonna run in 2022 and, when I win, I want you there at my inauguration.” ani Bob.
Hindi ito ang unang beses na sinabi ni Arum na may balak si Pacquiao na tumakbo bilang presidente ng Pilipinas. Noong 2015, sinabi nito na pagkatapos tumakbo ng senador para sa 2016 ay balak ni Pacquiao isunod ang pagiging presidente..
“He is going to be a president. He is going to run for the Senate of the Philippines in 2016 and then 2022, or maybe later, he’ll run for president.” ani Arum.
Sa interview naman kay Pacquiao noong 2019 matapos ang laban kay Adrien Broner, sinabi niya na wala siyang planong tumakbo bilang presidente.
