INAPRUBAHAN ng Kamara de Representantes sa ikalawang pagbasa ang panukala na i-COVID-19 test ang vulnerable sector.
Sinabi ni Iloilo Rep. Janette Garin, may-akda ng Crushing COVID Act (House bill 6707) na mahalaga na ma-test ang maraming tao lalo na ang mga bumabalik na sa trabaho.
Dapat maging prayoridad din umano ang mga buntis, health care workers, food handlers, public market vendors, mga empleyado sa groceries at supermarkets, house helpers, salon workers, media people at factory at construction workers.
Suportado rin ni Garin ang panukala ng Philippine Society of Pathologists na magsagawa ng pooled baseline PCR testing.
Sa ilalim ng pooled PCR testing, pagsasama-samahin ang swab sample ng 10 katao. Kapag nagpositibo ito, ibig sabihin mayroong kabilang sa grupo na may COVID-19.
Tapos hahatiin ang grupo hanggang sa matukoy kung sino sa kanila ang positibo.
Mas matipid umano ito kaysa i-test ng pa-isa-isa ang karamihan.
“This pooled PCR Testing will be an enhanced wider-based purposive testing designed to test a larger number of the vulnerable members of the society based on robust and scientific epidemiologic data. With this, we will be able to maximize the government resources,” paliwanag ni Garin.
“If we have a population of one million to be tested, that will only entail one hundred thousand tests.”
