KINASUHAN ng pulisya ang 57 indibidwal, kabilang ang mga opisyal ng barangay, na pinaboran umano ang mga kapamilya at kaibigan sa pamimigay ng ayuda mula sa Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
Ani Maj. Ronald Allan Tolosa, deputy chief ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group sa Central Visayas (CIDG-7), 19 iba pa ang iniimbestigahan sa kaparehong krimen.
Sinampahan na ng paglabag sa Republic Act 3019 o ang Anti-Graft and Corruption Practices Act in relation to Bayanihan to Heal as One Act at RAA 6713 o ang Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees Ang mga nasabing indibidwal simula pa noong isang linggo.
Kabilang sa mga inireklamo ang 12 barangay chairman at apat na kagawad. Ang iba ay mga barangay employees, social workers, at SAP enumerators at coordinators.
Kinasuhan na rin, aniya, ang 20 iba pang katao na kumulekta ng cash aid kahit hindi sila kwalipikado.
“The complaints were mostly based on accusations of favoritism in the selection of program beneficiaries by the concerned barangay officials and employees. These were the most common complaints that reached our office,” ani Tolosa.
Ang mga kinasuhan ay mula sa Mandaue City-26; Negros Oriental-11; Cebu province-7; Lapu-Lapu City-7; Cebu City-3, at Bohol province-3.
