Sumailalim na sa swab testing ang mga players at coches ng mga PBA teams pagmamay-ari ng San Miguel Corporation (SMC) noong Miyerkules.

Ito ay bahagi ng kampanya ng SMC na masuri sa coronavirus ang lahat ng kanilang 70,000 empleyado.

“Yes, all of our players and coaches got tested,” kumpirma ni San Miguel team manager Gee Abanilla. “It was alright. A bit uncomfortable but bearable. No need to get scared of.”

Ang testing sa mga players at coaches ay bilang paghahanda na rin sa pusibleng pagbabalik ng mga laro sa PBA. Inaantabayanan pa rin ng liga ang go-signal ng gobyerno na muling payagan ang pagsasagawa ng mga team sports events tulad ng basketball.

Sasagutin din ng SMC ang COVID-19 testing ng mga regular na empleyado ng PBA.

Mismong si SMC President at COO Ramon S. Ang ang nag-utos na magsagawa ng mass testing para sa mga empleyado ng kumpanya..

“We are doing this in phases. The success with which we can quickly test a large percentage of our employee population over the next few weeks will be a key consideration in the timelines of our overall return-to-work plan,” sabi ni Ang.

“Currently, we are working with partner laboratories to process the tests, but once our lab is up, we expect to be able to process more tests quickly so we don’t burden the system and we can take care of our employees.”
