DTI humirit ng batas para sa strategic stockpiling ng critical medical supplies
HIHILINGIN ng Department of Trade and Industry sa Kongreso na gumawa ng batas para sa strategic stockpiling ng mga critical medical supplies bilang paghahanda sa hinaharap na health emergencies ng bansa.
Ayon kay Trade Sec. Ramon Lopez mahalaga na matiyak na handa ang bansa sa mga health emergencies.
“Being considered also is moving forward, after the quarantine or as Congress resumes its session, we would be working with Congress hopefully to come up with a strategic stockpiling law that will allow the Philippines to really stockpile on critical medical items,” ani Lopez sa virtual hearing ng Defeat COVID-19 Committee ng Kamara de Representantes kahapon.
Ayon kay Lopez nag-repurpose ang ilang kompanya sa bansa upang mapunan ang kakulangan sa personal protective equipment, facemask at alkohol.
Ang mga kompanya sa ilalim ng Confederation of Wearable Exporters of the Philippines ay gumagawa na ng 10,000 medical-grade coveralls kada araw at inaasahan na tataas ito sa 20,000 hanggang 25,000 sa mga susunod na araw.
