Donasyong PPE sinisingil sa pasyente, pinaiimbestigahan

DAPAT umanong imbestigahan ng Department of Health at Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases ang umano’y paniningil sa mga pasyente ng personal protective equipment na donasyon sa ospital.

Ayon kay Bagong Henerasyon Rep. Bernadette Herrera nakababahala ang ulat na ito at dapat may maparusahan kung totoo.

“We call on the DOH and IATF to punish private hospitals that are taking advantage of the current situation by charging patients for donated PPEs that were either provided by the government or donated by the private sector,” ani Herrera na isa sa mga nagbibigay ng donasyong PPE sa mga ospital.

Unang linggo umano ng Abril ng lumabas ang alegasyon subalit hanggang ngayon ay wala pa rin siyang nababalitaan na naging imbestigasyon dito.

“This is clearly profiteering,” saad ng lady solon. “I wish to remind hospitals involved in this unfair practice that it is immoral and unacceptable for you to take advantage of this public health crisis.”

Sinabi ni Herrera na maaaring ang mga PPE ang dahilan kung bakit may mga pasyente na milyon ang hospital bill.

“For doctors who are using donated PPEs, maybe you can tell relatives of your patients to check the charges. Inform them that the gears are not to be charged because what you are wearing is donated,” dagdag pa ni Herrera.

Ang tatlong linggong confinement sa ospital ay maaari umanong umabot sa P378,000 ang halaga ng PPE na magagamit.

Ang PPE ay nagkakahalaga ng P1,500 pero merong mga ospital na P3,000-P4,000 ang halaga bawat set.

Ayon sa Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines (PHAP), ang isang COVID patient na nasa kritikal na kondisyon ay maaaring umubos ng 12-18 PPE kada araw.

Iginiit ng PHAP na hindi dapat singilin ng ospital sa pasyente ang PPE na natanggap nito bilang donasyon.
