NAGBITIW si Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia sa kanyang katungkulan sa kasagsagan naman ng kampanya ng gobyerno kontra coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Pernia na ang kaibhan ng posisyon niya sa ilang miyembro ng Gabinete ang isa sa mga dahilan ng kanyang pagbibitiw.
“After reflection during Holy Week, and consultations with my family and close colleagues, I have decided to resign from my post as Secretary of Socioeconomic Planning. This is due partly to personal reasons and partly to differences in development philosophy with a few of my fellow Cabinet members,” sabi ni Pernia.
Nagpasalamat naman si Pernia kay Pangulong Duterte.
“I would like to thank the President for appointing me to the position. It has been an honor and privilege to have served the country under his administration for the past nearly four years,” dagdag ni Pernia.
Sinabi ni Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea na tinanggap na ni Duterte ang pagbibitiw ni Pernia.
“The President has appointed DOF Usec. Karl Chua as acting Secretary of NEDA,” ani ni Medialdea.
