Walang graduation ceremonies habang may COVID-19 pandemic- DepED
WALANG magaganap na graduation ceremonies sa pre-school, elementary at high school bunga ng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), ayon sa Department of Education (DepEd).
Sinabi ni Education Secretary Leonor Briones Lunes ng umaga na kahit na Luzon-wide lang ang enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), ang ibang local government units sa Visayas at Mindanao ay nagpatupad din ng parehong patakaran.
“Alam natin na closed na ang classes, tapos na, pero walang graduation. I know disappointment ito para sa mga pamilya pero under present condition hindi natin ito pinahihintulutan,” sabi ni Briones sa morning show ng GMA na Unang Hirit.
“This is not the first time na pinopostpone. Hindi naman kinakansela, pinopostpone lang,” aniya pa.
Matatandan na sa ilalim ng ECQ ay ipinagbabawal ang mass gatherings bilang pag-iwas sa nakamamatay na virus.
Samantala, nagnegatibo na si Briones COVID-19 matapos tamaan ng sakit.
