INAGAW ng mga diumano’y kasapi ng New People’s Army ang ilang relief goods na ipamamahagi sana sa mga residenteng apektado ng community quarantine kontra COVID-19, sa Balanginga, Eastern Samar, inulat ng militar Biyernes.
Naganap ang insidenteng kinasangkutan ng aabot sa 30 rebelde noong Martes, sa Sitio Bangon, Brgy. Guinmayohan, ayon kay Capt. Reynaldo Aragones Jr., tagapagsalita ng Army 8th Infantry Division.
“According to witnesses who refused to be named due to fear, barangay officials were distributing relief packs to the needy families when an NPA group led by Gavino Quarino aka ‘Mael’ summoned some of the barangay officials and forcibly took away some of the relief goods,” sabi ni Aragones sa isang kalatas.
Dahil dito aniya’y kinapos ang suplay ng barangay at ilang pamilya ang di nakatanggap ng relief goods.
Napag-alaman ng militar na tinutunton ng mga rebelde ang mga lugar kung saan mamamahagi ng relief goods para manguha ng sarili nilang suplay, ayon kay Aragones.
Kinondena ni Col. Camilo Ligayo, commander ng 801st Infantry Brigade, ang insidente at tiniyak na pananagutin ang mga nasa likod nito.
“This is a time to help our people and not to add to their burden. What the NPA did is pure robbery during the Holy Week,” ani Ligayo.
