Savings ng gov’t sa lockdown aabot ng P10B

AABOT umano sa P10 bilyon ang matitipid ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno sa isang buwang Enhanced Community Quarantine.

At ang pondong ito ay magagamit umano sa paglaban ng gobyerno sa coronavirus disease, ayon kay House Deputy Speaker Mikee Romero.

“That amount could be used immediately to help our affected people especially the poor and to procure badly needed personal protective equipment for our frontline health workers,” ani Romero.

Paliwanag ni Romero ang natipid ng mga ahensya ay ang pondo sa ilalim ng maintenance and other operating expenses gaya ng gastos sa biyahe, gasolina, tubig at kuryente.

Ang MOOE budget sa ilalim ng 2020 national budget ay P1.6 trilyon.

“One month is equivalent to 8.33 percent or P13.3 billion of MOOE saved. Assuming frontline agencies like the Department of Health are spending P3.3 billion, there is P10 billion available,” ani Romero.

Bumaba rin umano ang gastos ng gobyerno sa gasolina at diesel dahil bumaba ang presyo nito.

Nang gawin ang 2020 national budget ang presyo ng kurudo ay itinakda sa $60- $75 kada bareles.

“The cost of crude is now $23-$24 per barrel, less than half of the assumed rates. This means that the government is realizing a lot of savings. In fact, we can drastically cut appropriations for oil-related expenses and still maintain the same level of operations as projected, such as the number of trips per government vehicle,” dagdag pa ng solon.
