Espenido hindi pa lusot sa pagkakaugnay sa droga-Palasyo

NILINAW ng Palasyo na hindi pa lusot si PLtCol Jovie Espenido sa umano’y pagkakaugnay sa droga sa kabila naman ng naunang pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte na nananatili ang tiwala niya sa opisyal matapos na mapabilang sa 367 pulis na nasa narco list.

Sa isang briefing, iginiit ni Presidential Spokesperson at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo na patuloy na iniimbestigahan si Espenido ni Interior Secretary Eduardo Año dahil sa pagkakadawit sa listahan ng drug watchlist.

“Eh sabi na nga ni Secretary Año eh mag-i-imbestiga pa rin sila,”sabi ni Panelo.

Nauna nang sinabi ni Año patuloy na inaalam kung kabilang nga si Espenido sa mga pulis na sangkot sa ilegal na droga.

Matatandaang si Espenido ang chief of police ng Albuera, Leyte kungh saan napatay ang mayor nito na si Rolando Espinosa, Sr. noong 2016.

Si Espenido rin ang police chief ng Ozamiz in Misamis Occidental kung saan napatay ang mayor nito na si Reynaldo Parojinog noong 2017. Kapwa nasa narco list ang dalawang mayor,

“Any statement that will run counters to subsequent evidence or proof or circumstances that will contradict your previous position to the matter will have to be changed,” ayon pa kay Panelo.

Ani Panelo hindi makakaapekto ang pahayag ni Duterte sa ginagawang imbestigasyon laban kay Espenido.

“Obviously it has not been influenced. As Secretary Año says, we will still investigate; which is the correct position,” ayon pa kay Panelo.
