Louise Abuel waging best actor sa 18th Dhaka filmfest

NASUNGKIT ng batang aktor na si Louise Abuel ang Best Actor award para sa pelikulang “Edward” sa Asian Film Competition ng 18th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) na ginanap sa Bangladesh National Museum.

Isa ang pelikulang “Edward” ni Thorp Nazareno (entry sa 2019 Cinemalaya Film Festival) sa 19 feature films na naglaban-laban, kabilang na riyan ang mga entry mula sa Afghanistan, Malaysia, China, India, Kazakhstan, Russia, Iran, South Korea, Thailand at Turkey.

Nagsilbing hurado sa nasabing filmfest ang kilalang international filmmaker na si Joanna Kos-Krauze (Poland) kasama ang iba pang members ng panel of judges na sina Mostofa Sarwar Farooki (Bangladesh), Päivi Kapiainen-Heiskanen (Finland) at Miguel Ángel Jiménez (Spain).

Hindi nakarating si Louise sa Bangladesh para personal na tanggapin ang kanyang best actor trophy dahil may prior commitment ito. Ang isa sa producer ng “Edward” na si Ferdy Lapuz ang dumalo para tanggapin ang award ng young actor.

Ang “Edward” ay kuwento ng isang binatilyo (Louise) na may nakilalang dalaga (Ella Cruz) sa isang hospital habang nagbabantay sa kanyang may sakit na ama.

Sa huling panayam namin kay Louise, inamin nitong si Ella ang first kiss niya kaya nanginig siya nang husto habang sinu-shoot ang kanilang eksena.

Nagkatawanan nga sila ni Ella dahil talagang tulala raw ang binatilyo pagkatapos ng kanilang kissing scene.

Kung matatandaan, nanalo rin sa movie si Ella bilang best actress sa 2019 Cinemalaya Film Festival. Nagwagi rin ito ng Special Jury Prize at Best Production Design.
