Libo-libong evacuees bumalik na sa kani-kanilang bahay sa palibot ng Bulkang Taal

BUMALIK na ang libo-libong evacues sa kani-kanilang bahay sa mga bayan sa palibot ng Bulkang Taal matapos namang ibaba ang alert status sa alert level 3.

Sinabi ni Ricardo Jalad, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council executive director na inaasahang 90 porsiyento ng mga inilikas ang babalik sa mga lugar na mas malayo sa pitong kilometro mula sa bulkan.

Umabot sa 111,110 pamilya na may kabuuang 415,706 indibidwal ang lumikas matapos ang pagsabog ng Bulkang Taal noong Enero 12 at 13, ayon sa pinakahuling datos mula sa Batangas Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Idinagdag ni Jalad na tanging mga evacuees na nakatira sa Taal Volcano Island at ilang bahagi ng bayan ng Agoncillo at bayan ng Laurel ang hindi pinapayagang makauwi sa kanilang mga tahanan.

Inihayag ni Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas na may opsyon nang makabalik ang mga residente mula sa Alitagtag, Balete, Cuenca, Lemery, Malvar, Mataas na Kahoy, San Nicolas, Sta. Teresita, Taal, Talisay, Lipa City, at Tanauan City.

“Being still in Level 3… it is possible that Taal Volcano may still erupt, and therefore all returning residents must be constantly alert and vigilantly ready to evacuate within 1 hour shpuld the alert level be raised again,” sabi ni Mandanas.
