Ginebra handa sa dikdikang laban vs Meralco

NAKAUNA man kontra Meralco Bolts sa Game 1 ng kanilang PBA Governors’ Cup best-of-seven championship series noong Martes ng gabi, hindi naman magkukumpiyansa ang Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings papasok sa Game 2 ng kanilang serye ngayong Biyernes ng gabi.

Tinalo man ng Gin Kings ang Bolts, 91-87, sa kanilang Finals opener inaasahan naman ni Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone na magiging dikdikan pa rin ang kanilang mga susunod na laro.

“I honestly feel this is the way it’s going to be every game. It’s going to be a grind-out, fight-to-the-end, let’s-see-who’s-gonna-go-on-top-in-the-last-minute type of series,” sabi ni Cone matapos ang Game 1 .

Kinailangan ng Ginebra na bumangon mula sa 10 puntos na paghahabol sa ikatlong yugto para maungusan ang Bolts at maitakas ang panalo sa kanilang series opener.

Siguradong tututukan ng depensa ng Meralco sa Game 2 si Justin Brownlee na kumana ng 38 puntos sa Game 1.

Pero hindi lamang si Brownlee ang dapat bantayan ng Bolts dahil masasandalan din ng Gin Kings sa opensa sina Japeth Aguilar, LA Tenorio, Stanley Pringle, Scottie Thompson at Greg Slaughter.

Maliban sa kanilang depensa, umaasa naman si Meralco coach Norman Black na magiging maayos ang opensa ng kanyang koponan sa Game 2.

Maliban kina Allen Durham, Raymond Almazan at Chris Newsome, aasahan din ni Black ang magiging kontribusyon nina Baser Amer, Allein Maliksi at Bong Quinto sa opensa ng Bolts.
