Pinas umani ng 3 ginto sa kickboxing

O0Umani ng tatlong gintong medalya ang Pilipinas sa pagtatapos ng 30th Southeast Asian Games kickboxing competition Martes ng gabi sa Cuneta Astrodome.

Nanaig sina Gina Iniong at Jean Claude Saclag kontra sa kanilang mga kalaban sa finals noong Martes para idagdag sa naunang gintong medalyang napanalunan ni Jerry Olsim.

Tinalo ni Iniong si Apichaya Mingkwan ng Thailand, 3-0, sa women’s -55kg kick light division habang si Saclag ay nanaig kay Mohammed Mahmoud ng Malaysia, 3-0, sa men’s 63.5kg full contact.

 

“Our game plan was really to get inside because she’s a taekwondo player. I timed my attacks well,” sabi ni Iniong na isang wushu at mixed martial arts champion.

 

“I didn’t expect to win easily because I could sense he was not being hurt. But when I saw that fatigue was affecting him, I went for the kill,” sabi naman ni Saclag.

 

Unang nagwagi ng ginto para sa koponan si Olsim sa men’s -69kg kick light division nitong Lunes.

Sumungkit din ng dalawang pilak na medalya ang mga Pinoy kickboxers mula kina Jomar Balangui at Renalyn Dacquel, at isang tanso mula kay Karl Manguide.
