AGOT ISIDRO

SINGER Agot Isidro is questioning kung saan napupunta ang travel tax.

Posting a photo of the items where travel tax go na ang nakalagay ay 40% CHED, 10% NCCA and 50% TIEZA, she captioned it this way: “Di ko ma-gets itong travel tax. It’s 1,620 pesos per Filipino who leaves the country. Can someone explain to me?”

When she was lambasted for it, sumagot si Agot sa mga bashers and said, “Kayo naman, di ba nga sinabi ko matagal na ito.

“This has been around for awhile.

“Or if kailangan talaga dapat one travel tax which is good for a year dapat. Grabe naman yung every time ka lalabas eh 1620. Nagpapakapuyat ka kumuha ng murang airfare during sale and cheap accommodation only to be slapped 1620. That’s 6480 pesos for a family of 4!”

“If the money goes to heritage, tourism, and education, wouldn’t it make more sense imposing a fee on foreigners visiting the country rather than on people leaving the country?”

By hampaslupang pulitiko I mean, hindi pinaghirapan yung excess wealth.”
