Beauty queen na lalaban sa Miss Teen Universe na-inspire kay Pia
PIA WURTZBACH AT SZARMAINE FEDELIN
Inspiration ni Szarmaine Fedelin si Pia Wurtzbach. She was born in the Philippines and moved to Canada when she was 4 years old.
She is competing in the Miss Teen Universe which will be held in Mexico from Nov. 1-7, 2019.
Her first international pageant was in El Salvador where she represented Canada in the Miss Teen Petite International last April 2019. She was in the Top 5 and she won Best in Social Media Awards (online voting).
Her second international pageant was in Peru last August 2019 for the Miss Teen Model International where she was in the Top 6.
Aminado si Szarmaine na hindi niya inambisyong maging beauty queen, “At first, to be honest ay hindi ko po talaga gusto pero the first time I realized na na-inspire ako sa mga pageants is noong nakita ko si Pia Wurtzbach sa Miss Universe. Iba talaga ang saya na dinala niya ang Pilipinas. Everybody was so proud.
“The Filipinos all around the world, whether in Canada, London the news carries on. Ang saya-saya ng pamilya ko kasi we watched it together. Talon nang talon lahat ng tao,” she said, adding Gloria Diaz whom she considers a legend and Catriona Gray whom she finds very intelligent, as her inspirations.
On her free time, she reads books, go swimming and spend time with her kuya. Her recent read is “The Handmaid’s Tale” a novel by Canadian author Margaret Atwood.
Napabilib si katotong Alwin Ignacio kasi bihira na ang nagbabasa ng libro now.
“It’s about women empowerment. It was written in the past, in 1985. It’s about how women are treated like animals. It was kind of inspiring to see how she portrayed what it could be if women will make a stand,” she said.
