Catanduanes isinailalim sa state of calamity dahil sa dengue
NAGDEKLARA ng state of calamity ang lalawigan ng Catanduanes sa harap ng tumataas na bilang ng mga kaso ng dengue.
Sinabi ni Dr. Hazel Palmes, chief ng Catanduanes Health Office, na base sa ulat mula Provincial Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (PESU), nakapagtala na ng 1,928 kaso ng dengue kung saan tatlo na ang namamatay mula Enero 1 hanggang Agosto 30.
Ayon naman kay Catanduanes Vice Gov. Shirley Abundo, na siyang acting provincial governor, ipinasa ng mga miyembro ng Provincial Board ang resolusyon nitong Lunes.
Sa ilalim ng resolusyon, maaaring gamitin ng lokal na pamahalaan ang pondo mula sa Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) para pondohan ang mga programa para masugpo ang dengue.
Lumagpas na sa outbreak threshold ang mga kaso ng dengue sa lalawigan.
