Viva TV, which airs on Cignal TV has seen a rise in viewership of its music-centered shows these past years. Now, as a way of showing its gratitude to its loyal viewers, Viva TV is adding more shows focused on original Pilipino music to its programming. Aside from that, Viva TV has recruited a line-up of fresh, exciting VJs to bring these shows to televiewers. These new shows are:

Idol presents career milestones of well-known artists from when they began their careers in showbusiness to how they attained stardom. This airs at 5:30 PM every Tuesday and is hosted by actors Vitto Marquez and Andrew Muhlach, both of whom are descended from famous showbiz families.

Vitto, who is a member of ABS-CBN’s boy group, Hashtags is the son of actors Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno. An emerging social media star with hundreds of thousands of followers online, he is also the host of Pinoy Jam, Viva TV’s showcase for R&B and hip hop sounds. This can be seen at 5:30 PM on Fridays.

Andrew is the nephew of Amalia Fuentes and brother of Aga Muhlach. He started out as a child actor and has appeared in films like Lumayo Ka Nga Sa Akin, Super Noypi, Darkroom and Squad Goals. He also hosts Rak En Roll where the spotlight is on the best Pinoy Rock on Thursdays at 5:30 PM.

New VJ and singer/actress Ataska Mercado takes the lead for Top 5 at 5:30 PM every Saturday. Top five songs of a single theme are played back to back for one whole month with fun commentaries by the young host.

Ataska started out as a finalist in The Voice Kids 2015. She has performed in theater shows like Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Hansel and Gretel, and Annie. She was also in the cast of the box-office hot Miss Granny.

Other shows that keep the music playing on Viva TV are: Pwesto, at 8:00 PM which features intimate performances by various artists; Halo Halo Sessions on Air which brings the much talked about live sessions on Halo-Halo Radio online to cable TV; Playlist, where random people get to talk about the music in their personal playlists; and coming soon, the P-Pop Gen Special where viewers get to share in the experiences of today’s most exciting all-girl group, the P-Pop Generation.

Viewing fun continues with Viva TV’s pretty and talented resident VJs in OPM TV Hits and Hataw with social media influences Issa Pressman, OPM TV Hits, Fresh and OPM I Love with Aryanna Epperson, who is also a major presence on social media; and OPM Hits and Covers with singer Nicole Omillo.

And because Viva is known as the home of the stars, viewers will be treated to real-life stories of some of the biggest names in showbusiness in the docuseries Pinoy Star Stories every Thursday at 8:00 in the evening.
