PNP nagluluksa matapos gawing ‘human shield’ ang 3-anyos na anak

NAGLULUKSA ang  Philippine National Police (PNP) sa pagkamatay ng tatlong-anyos na batang babae na pinaniniwalaang ginawang ‘human shield’ ng kanyang tatay na suspek sa droga matapos ang madugong barilan sa Rodriguez, Rizal noong Linggo.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni PNP spokesperson Col. Bernard Banac na nakikiramay ang PNP sa pamilya ng apat na nasawi, kasama ang batang si Myka Ulpina.

“It is very unfortunate that a 3-year-old child became a collateral casualty in the most recent incident of violent confrontation with drug suspects in Rizal province,” sabi ni Banac.

Bukod kay Myka, napatay din ang tatay niyang si Renato, isa pang suspek at si Senior Master Sergeant Conrad Cabigao, na nagsilbing poseur buyer.

Base sa imbestigasyon, nakilala ng isa pang suspek si Cabigao bilang pulis kayat pinaputukan niya ito, samantalang ginamit naman ni Renato si Myka bilang panangga.

Dinala si Myka sa ospital matapos tamaan sa ulo. Nasawi si Myka habang ginagamot sa ospital makalipas ang isang araw.

Sinabi ni Banac na unang nagpaputok ang mga suspek kay Cabigao, dahilan para siya gumanti ng putok.

“Any armed engagement especially close quarters combat in a cramped environment like this is very chaotic and the confluence of events is fast and unpredictable to allow more calibrated and cautious reactions,” sabi ni Banac.

“Sgt. Cabigao may have acted purely on human instinct to survive that ordeal but was simply outgunned by the two suspects,” ayon pa kay Banac.
