SINABI ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na ligtas ang 32 Pinoy seaman matapos ang pag-atake sa dalawang oil tanker sa Strait of Hormuz .
Sa isang pahayag, kinumpirma ng DFA na hiwalay na nakipagpulong si Philippine Ambassador to United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hjayceelyn Quintana sa 11 Pinoy seafarers ng MT Front Altair at 21 Pinoy seafarers ng MT Kokuka Courageous sa tulong ng UAE authorities.
“Ambassador Quintana is happy to report that all Filipino seafarers are unharmed and in good condition,” sabi pa ng DFA.
Idinagdag ng DFA na napinsala ang dalawang tanker sa nangyaring pag-atake na nangyari sa karagatan ng Strait of Hormuz noong Hunyo 13.
“The seafarers are appreciative of the concern extended to them by the Philippine government and all those involved in their rescue,” ayon pa sa DFA.
“The manning agencies are now looking after the crews’ wellbeing and are dealing with their repatriation,” ayon pa sa DFA.
