Higit 3,000 dakip sa gun ban

UMABOT na sa 3,105 katao ang naaresto para sa paglabag sa gun ban na ipinaututpad para sa palapit na mid-term elections, ayon sa National Police, Huwebes.

Sa naturang bilang, 2,924 ay civilians, 57 security guard, 44 opisyal ng gobyerno, 32 pulis, limang sundalo, pitong mkyembro ng iba pang ahensiyang pangseguridad, dalawang tauhan ng Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, at tatlong banyaga, sabi ni PNP spokesman Col. Bernard Banac.

Dalawampu’t tatlo sa mga nadakip ay mula sa mga “threat groups” at anim ay kasapi ng private armed groups, ani Banac.

Nasa 1,690 suspek ang naharang sa pagpapatrolya ng pulisya, 637 nadakip sa pamamagitan ng search warrant, 504 sa pagpapatupad ng Oplan “Bakal,” “Sita,” at “Galugad,” 234 sa mga checkpoint, at 40 sa pagsisilbi ng warrants of arrest mula nang mag-umpisa ang gun ban noong Enero 13.

Umabot na sa 2,603 iba-ibang uri ng baril ang nakumpiska ng pulisya, kasama ng 22,930 deadly weapons, granda’t iba pang pampasabog, gun replicas, patalim, at bala.

Gaganapin ang halalan sa Mayo 13 pero ipapatupad ang gun ban hanggang Hunyo 12, ayon sa Commission on Elections.
