105-araw na expanded maternity leave ganap nang batas
PINIRMAHAN na ni Pangulong Duterte ang Expanded Maternity Leave bilang ganap na batas kung saan may 105-araw na bayad na maternity leave ang mga nagtatrabahong nanay sa pampubliko at pribadong tanggapan.
Kinumpirma ni dating Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher “Bong” Go na ganap na itong batas matapos naman ang naunang pangamba ng mga grupo ng mga manggagawa na posibleng i-veto ito.
“This new law grants 105 days of paid maternity leave to all working mothers in government and private sector with an option to extend their leaves for another 30 days without pay. Solo mothers will also get additional 15 days of leave,” sabi ni Go.
Hindi naman batid ni Presidential Spokesperson at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador na napirmahan na ni Duterte ang bagong batas.
“There is no official word from the President yet. I have not received…,” pag-amin ni Panelo.
Sa kanyang pahayag, idinagdag naman ni Go na mas mabibigyan ng mga nanay ng panahon ang kanyang bagong silang na sanggol dahil sa mas mahabang bakasyon.
“Indeed, this new law ensures expectant working mothers enough time to ensure the best possible conditions for a healthy delivery,” ayon pa kay Go.
