Sa harap ng measles outbreak, bakuna dalhin ng DOH sa bahay-solon

MATAPOS ideklara ang measles outbreak sa Metro Manila, nanawagan ang isang solon sa Department of Health na magbahay-bahay para mabakunahan ang mga bata.

Sinabi ng DoH na tumaas ng 550 porsyento ang mga bata na nagkatigdas mula Enero 1 hanggang Pebrero 6.
Sinabi ni Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman na dapat ay gumawa ng paraan ang DoH matapos na maraming magulang ang hindi nagpapabakuna ng kanilang anak dahil sa Dengvaxia scare.

“We are scoring the DOH for not addressing this attitude. There should be solid and massive campaign for people to accept the efficacy of vaccine,” ani Lagman.

Sinabi ni Lagman na kung abala ang mga magulang kaya hindi madala ang kanilang mga anak sa health center upang makapagpabakuna dapat ang mga health workers ang pumunta sa mga bahay.

“I don’t think that’s acceptable reason. Because If parents or mothers can not bring their children to the center for vaccination then people from the center should go to the homes to make the vaccination,” ani Lagman.

Ayon sa DoH, umabot sa 169 ang kaso ng tigdas sa Metro Manila mula Enero 1 hanggang Pebrero 6, mas mataas kumpara sa 26 kaso na naitala sa kaparehong panahon noong nakaraang taon.
