Pinoy domestic helper sa HK kulong ng 1 linggo matapos magnakaw ng P672

PINATAWAN ang isang Pinoy domestic helper sa Hong Kong ng isang linggong pagkakakulong matapos mahuling nagnanakaw ng HK$100 (US$12.75 o P672) mula sa kanyang employer sa Braemar Hill.

Nagpasok ng guilty plea ang 36-anyos na si Melody C.F. sa kasong theft sa Eastern Magistrates’ Courts Principal Magistrate Peter Law noong Enero 21, na nagpataw sa kanyang ng isang linggong kaparusahan.

Base sa ulat ng Hong Kong News noong Enero 22, humingi ang abogado ni Melody sa korte na maging maluwag sa parusa matapos ang kanyang pag-amin sa krimen matapos mahuli sa akto.

“She took the Hong Kong dollar and tried to get money for her daughter’s educational needs,” sabi ng abogado ni Melody.

Nagsimulang magtrabaho si Melody sa kanyang employer noong Setyembre 2018, bagamat isa nang  domestic helper sa Hong Kong simula pa noong 2008. 

Nahuli si Melody matapos mapansin ng kanyang amo na lagi siyang nawawalan ng pera sa bahay.

Naglalagay ang kanyang employer ng pera sa loob ng bag sa taas ng isang shoe cabinet noong Setyembre 19.

Nang makabalik sa bahay kinagabihan, napansin niyang nawawala ang HK$100 kayat agad na tumawag ng pulis. Natagpuan ang pera sa pitaka ni Melody.

“She has an 18-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son. Her daughter is in university. [Melody] took the [money] because she was in financial difficulties. Her daughter had university fees to pay,” sabi ng kanyang abogado.
